Why I Took A Break

For anyone who read my blog on a regular basis, you knew that I stopped blogging for about two months. I thought about maybe doing a post once a week just to keep the little outlet that I made for myself, then I would just brush it off and say "maybe on another day" and as we all know, that day took a long time to come.

I love my blog and the connections I have made through it, it's just the neatest thing in the world being able to read about a complete strangers day to day life until you find yourself coming back every day for another dose of laughter or fashion advice.

What really bothered me away was how much people turned me away because I didn't have enough followers or wouldn't give me advice unless I paid for it. I was taken aback by that, I really have to pay for friendships now? I wasn't asking for a button on their blog or anything like that, I was always simply trying to make a connection, because in the end that's all we have isn't it? I just assumed that everyone out there was like the amazing women that I had sponsored in the past and I was clearly wrong.

Ryan asked me probably three times every week when I was going to start blogging again and I was just brushing him off until he finally told me to just let it go because I didn't need anyones validation. I finally decided to not let those people discourage me from doing what I love, because I have missed seeing the wonderful comments I received on my posts and just a few women definitely do not define all of the absolutely wonderful bloggers out there.

Weekend

This weekend was another relaxed couple of days. I've been knitting some dish towels that hopefully I can put up on etsy soon! I've also been fighting an upper respiratory infection without medicine.

I feel so drained and don't seem to be getting better so I think I may be going back to the doctor if it stays this way :/

I think my favorite part of this weekend though was going to see The Great Gatsby

It was just amazing. I had wanted to read the book before seeing the movie, but just never seemed to get around to it. I will make a point of buying the book and reading it now, I can only imagine how great it is if the movie was that good!

Definitely something I would recommend! I have a feeling there will be many award nominations for this movie.

I hope you are having a wonderful Monday (as hard as that may be sometimes)

Working Woman

Hey guys! I'm finally getting into a routine with work now that I'm not exhausted all the time

I was assigned to work with the kids who are about 1 1/2 years old and boy do they wear me out! I really do love my job though!

Lately I've been a little bit obsessed with knitting, I know how to knit I'm usually just too lazy to actually do it

Hopefully I'll have something made pretty soon to show all of you!

Busy Bee

Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the lack of posts on here in the last few days, I've been so busy trying to do as much as possible in the few days I've been home!

The drive from South Dakota to New Mexico wasn't too bad, we were supposed to drive through a snow storm but thank goodness we didn't see a single snow flake!

The Denver skyline

The only clouds we really saw were over this mountain!

This is the Taos Canyon in New Mexico. The Rio Grande river is flowing down on the bottom right.

The drive is really pretty once we get past Nebraska! Today is my last day home and then we make our way back!

I'll be posting about some pinterest projects I tried out too, here's a sneak peek!

Running Low

It's finals week, I have zero energy and this is how I feel

I am going home for a week tomorrow and that hasn't even really hit me yet. I haven't packed, haven't cleaned my room, haven't done anything except study for finals and procrastinate.

It's hard to believe the end of the school year is already here! Thank goodness for summer time is all I can say.

Oh and I got that job!

I promise I'll have more next time, but until then..

TGIF

I couldn't be happier that today is the end of the week. Although it is one of the busiest days for me so far this week.

I have an interview at 11 at a childcare service here in town, so keep your fingers crossed!

This morning I took my final for general psychology, I was actually really disappointed with that class so I'm glad it's over! I also finish up my composition class today, everything has gone by so fast!!

Hopefully everything goes smoothly over the next few days, then it's sweet summer time!!

Who is your Guru?

One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is to watch youtube beauty gurus

These women and men have a huge amount of knowledge when it comes to makeup, hair, skin, nails, etc. It's so easy for me to go onto youtube with a specific video in mind and I end up watching about five others!

There are a few of them that I just HAVE to watch. Every time they have a new video uploaded I make sure to watch it. I follow them on instagram, twitter, Facebook, everything!

Jaclyn Hill is my current favorite. Her personality is infectious through the computer screen, she's obviously very beautiful, and she has some techniques that don't require a new $40 brush or new makeup. My hair is actually dyed the same exact way hers is right now because I thought it was just so pretty!

Carli Bybel was originally intriguing to me because she was so young when she first started out and now she basically lives off of what she makes doing her videos. She actually gets kind of annoying after a while, but she has some serious style and good makeup looks

If you haven't watcher her videos you are missing out. She's actually gone through some major changes in the last few years and she really relied on her viewers for support and that kind of touched me to know how much she VALUED her subscribers, not just the income they provide her

Wayne is one of the funniest makeup artists I've watched. He posts so many videos to just address real issues,  not just beauty, and I love him for that. It was definitely new seeing him apply the makup on himself, but if you're learning something who cares who teaches it, right?

Emily goes out and buys TONS of drugstore products so that she can give you her honest opinion on what is the best and what will look best on who. It's great seeing a combination of both drugstore and high end products so that you really know which is best, not which is the best sponsor!

Those are just my favorites at the moment, but there are SO MANY MORE!!!!

If you have someone you love to watch make sure and let me know so I can check them out!
